"We seek to not only minimize our ecological footprint, but to change our relationship with the Earth, our environment."
Green-Sustainable Community Transition
The Cultural Wellness program offers collaborative partnership in revitalizing distressed communities. The program provides sustainable living, health, and wellbeing education with youth cultural arts mentoring; eco-entrepreneur workshops, startup incubator, and cooperative (with micro grants/loans); organic urban farming/permaculture; and green, sustainable community-building/conservation resources. The program also includes building aesthetic, sustainable "off the grid" homes with natural and repurposed materials as well as land restoration and greenspace design.
Whole Life Health & Wellbeing
We offer a supportive network of resources (online/phone and onsite) for effectively resolving emotional-mental or life difficulties, improving health and wellbeing; and for personal, family, and community development. Focused development includes 7 fundamental aspects of health and wellbeing: emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, relational, creativity, and purpose/life meaning. These services help to facilitate personal and family/transgenerational healing with the discovery of new insights/awareness to effectively navigate life challenges and lead a vibrant, fulfilling life.
Arts-based Youth Mentoring
We have ongoing after-school opportunities for youth ages 14-21. The mentoring program integrates lived experience with expressive/performance art and multimedia to facilitate personal growth, life skill development, resiliency, and a deeper connection with the environment (active engagement in the community and in Nature). The program concludes with a performance and multimedia presentation of their work. Students who complete the mentoring program receive a scholarship to attend the Nature Studies Conservatory.
